I was determined to take advantage of the low gas prices (it's around $6/gallon in UK), and wanted something unusual. It was either going to be Street Rod, (e.g. '32 5 window or similar) or a Kit Car. I went for a Kit Car, and especially this one because of the wiring. Seems a strange reason to buy a car, but I know from bitter experience that's where all the hassle is. This car was a "professionally built car", and I actually believe it from looking at it. The wiring was immaculate, tie-wrapped every 6 inches with a proper fuse box! It came with a tonneau cover in case it rained (which I also used when parking at work), and a mohair roof that I never assembled. It had a 302ci Ford, probably around 250bhp. A 5 speed of unknown origin and a Chevy rear. It went well, but the "racing suspension", which really meant they had used polyurethane bushes, would squeak and rattle constantly. It went very well though, and was good fun. The Atlanta weather treated me kindly, but as winter drew nearer I started looking "unofficially" for a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacement was a huge disaster... By the way, I bought and sold this car through the same dealer. The company is called Fraser Dante, and it's run by Tom and Tevie Fraser. I would recommend having a look around their place. I think it should be called "Big Boys Toys". Tell them I sent you! | ||
